I have broken the WWII 808 Tank Destroyer Battalion Saga (or story) into
6 sections.
Each section, when read in the order presented will tell you the story
of
how the US came to be involved in WWII, how TDs came to be and what the
808 did during WWII. This is not a complete history. If you have content
to add, send me an
email.

Site Map of the Saga (story of the TD/808)
This
is not a complete history of the US involvement in WWII, it is however a
quick overview of the war as it pertains to tank destroyers with emphasis on
the 808th training and activity in the ETO.

As this webmaster researched a multitude of documentation for this section of the website I became aware that many people have a somewhat unclear idea of the who, what, when, where and how of WWII for the US. Here, while discussing tank destroyers and specifically the 808th TD Battalion I will try to clear up some of those ideas.
Members of the 808th Tank Destroyer battalion and this webmaster are always happy to have holes in our history filled. If you have any information pertaining to the 808th or tank destroyers in general and would like to add it to this website, please email the webmaster. I will add it, give you credit for your entry and be forever grateful.
It becomes evident that the 808th Tank Destroyer Battalion did exactly what the TD were designed to do. They took their motto to heart. They did Seek, Strike, and Destroy the enemy.
