My father was Samuel Paul Shelton. He served with the 808th. He passed away in June 1962 when I was but 11 years old, so I know very little about his service time. I do have his DD form 214 as well as a few photographs. Would like to see his photo linked with his name and would also love to hear from anyone who knew him. Wish I had known about the reunion in time to attend. I love that you have dedicated this website to these brave men. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My father and family never talked much about my dads service in the war, he was a very quite and reserved dad. He passed away in 1979 from cancer when I was 16. I cherished his medals and patches from the 808 tank destroyers and now at 41 have begun to try to gain insight into his honorable service in WWII. Finding this site and seeing his name on your roster has me swelling with pride not only for my father but for all the proud men who served with him. His name is Edward Kaminski, from Chicago, Illinois. If anyone can give any insight or would just like to leave any comments, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tony Kaminski

I think your site is just amazing. I think its great what your doing with it by remembering all the heroes of that war especially the ones in the 808th TDB. I'm the grandson of a fellow 808th member so I've heard all the stories for most of my life. I just wanted to write and say that I thought your site really wonderful.

My father in law served with the 808th and was always extremely proud of the men he was in battle with. His name was Capt Louie B. Green. He is now deceased, but his pride in this unit lived with him always. He told me and his grandson many times of the pride he took from his 808th experiences. His son and grandon later went in to armor as part of their military service. I think it was in part due to Louie's pride in this unit. Thanks for doing this site. I will try and recover some of his papers that can be shared with you later. I think there are some pictures that might be of interest if I can find them. Thanks
