What a great site. My dad E.P. Litchfield served with the 808th. I
reccently found several great photos and his map etc. Dad passed away
several years ago but not before telling me some great stories. He was
proud of the men he served with and told me if he had to do it over he
would want to be with the same 808th.

This effort is wonderful My dad, Roy Franklin Jarvis, served in Co. C of
the 808th. Dad died 11/19/95. I would really like to hear from anyone
that knew or served with him. He had a listing of places where the
headquarters were located during the time of his joining the unit and
the end of the war. I've managed to loose this document and would like
another copy if anyone has one and would be willing to share. I notice
your 2004 reunion is scheduled for Hendersonville, NC. I live just
outside of Hendersonville, NC and I would be honored to meet and assist
the members of the 808th in any way possible during your visit here.

Your web site is very well done. My father, Crockett Byars, has always
spoken very highly of the men he served with in the 808th. I have copies
of some of his wartime photos available for email if anyone is
interested in copies. I would also be interested in any photos from
other members of the battalion.

You asked me a couple of months ago if I could identify the names on the
captured Nazi flag. I have finally gotten that information, as the flag is
not in my possession. They are: Wally Atkinson, Francis, Utah Henry Hampton,
Ashland, Kentucky Wendell H. Carpenter, Lancaster, Ohio Clifton Morris, High
Point, North Carolina My father-in-law also mentioned the names of a couple
of other combat compadres: Whitlock and Sidenable, though he could not
remember first names. Sixty years now...whew...

We farmed in South Dakota, we froze in Watersmeet; In'44 we bunked in a
barn, this included Christmas Eve. We "busted" through the Ziegfried Line
and picked-up more supplies. We had the Germans on the run, and then we
crossed the Rhine. Soon the war was over following one HORRIFIC sight.
That's when we knew what we had done was absolutely right. MSG Millard

Allways interresting to read about a (rather) small, independent unit in WW
II. Nice site, well designed indeed. Will there be a Roll of Honor on this
site, in the near future? Warm Greetings, Marco Cillessen, Groesbeek

How do I go about forwarding photos that I have from the war, involving a
tank team of the 808th? I do not see the name of Wallace William Atkinson on
your roll call. I have the discharge paper, too, that could be included, as
well as the capture of a Nazi flag in Bad Langensalza, Germany. I could not
see how to make contact. This is a terrific site. Thank you for the hard
work and effort.

I am the grandson of Millard Brewer I'm 14 years of age. He was a member of
Company A. I was wondering how I could give this website some of his
stories. Overall the website is really good and I found it very interesting
and informative.
